Spring Cleaning Challenge!

The magic spring air and sunshine has given The Home Sanctuary all the energy to tackle spring cleaning in our homes.  We LOVE the feeling that we get when we clean the clutter and chaos from our lives (and our clients lives) and we want to challenge YOU to do the same.  Let’s all feel the freedom of letting go together!

To help get you get motivated we are hosting a SPRING CLEANING CHALLENGE.  The winner of the challenge will receive a basket filled with some goodies that THS loves for spring.

Participation is simple: Tag @thehomesanctuary in a picture on Instagram or Facebook of the area that you cleaned out. Please note that while we do always love to see a before and after picture of a space, know that you are NOT required to show the before of your space.

Once you have tagged us with your picture you will be entered into the giveaway.  The winner will be drawn on Monday, April 22.

There are already a million excellent spring cleaning checklists out there. Take a stroll through Pinterest and you could keep yourself busy for a month reading through them all.  If you need some ideas of a space that could use some freshening up, here are a couple checklists that we like here and here.

Not sure what to do with items you are ready to donate?

  • Check with your local kids consignment stores (Buttons, Bows, and Britches or Slugger Kids) for items that they are in need of. These consignment stores are excellent places to take your gently used kids toys/bikes to make a little money back on these big ticket items.

  • Some of our favorite organizations to give donations are listed below. Check out their websites for details on donations.

Kentucky Refugee Ministries

Catholic Charities of Louisville

Department of Veteran Affairs Louisville

  • If you have old towels that you are getting rid of, check with your local animal shelter or vet to see if they are in need of towels.

  • Have an old tent you are ready to get rid of? Please check with local homeless shelters/organizations such as The Forgotten Louisville. They often take tents to use as “homes” for those who are homeless.

We hope you feel lighter and fresher after the challenge.  As always, The Home Sanctuary is here to help with any of the spring cleaning projects you don’t have time to do yourself.  Check out our packages here.

Also, don’t forget about our referral program. You can get yourself a little extra money while helping someone you know get their house in shape just in time for summer!

Now go throw open your windows, let the fresh air inside, and get down and dirty spring cleaning your home! Don’t forget to share your pics and be entered for the spring basket!
